From snowsurf to cold water surf, Mathieu Crepel has turning dialled. His collection of clips, shot everywhere from Baldface Lodge to the Arctic Circle demonstrates his precision and power, bringing a true waterman's style to the mountain.
After putting his body on the line surfing Peahi, 2019 marked a year where Mathieu sought to link the surf and snowboard worlds in a mellower fashion, combining both on a mission to the Norwegian coast and drawing inspiration from powsurfing in Canada to create his own hybrid craft. Interesting fact: he surfs goofy and snowboards regular, so it took a little thinking before settling on a stance for snowboarding unstrapped!
Chione was a Greek snow goddess - it seemed more than fitting to dedicate his 2019/20 part to her.

What He Rode: The Escape
Just like his brothers and sisters in the water, Mathieu likes to travel with a full quiver to be best prepared for any conditions. However, for anything from cruising groomers to throwing down on the Ultra Natural course, he rides The Escape.
A pro-level board at an affordable price point, The Escape offers plenty of pop and stability with its camber profile and slight setback, backing it up with a fast N7000 sintered base. The wooden veneer topsheet gives it a lively flex, perfect for ollies and butters all over the mountain.
