Snowboard Technology

Construction

N-Tech

Our most advanced manufacturing process combines elements of cap and sandwich construction while shaving weight in the middle of the board. The result is a powerful flex from tip to tail that still allows precise torsional feel and edge control.

Power Rails

An exclusive Nidecker construction inspired by surfboards. The topsheet is wrapped over a rounded wood core to meet a thin sidewall. It’s a beautiful finish that’s even more stunning to ride, delivering instant drive through the edge.

Premium Sandwich

A step up from our standard sandwich construction that adds carbon stringers for more pop, quicker edge response and improved shock absorption.

Classic Sandwich

Our standard construction is the top of the line for most other brands. A wood core is sandwiched between the base and top materials and protected by durable ABS or TPU sidewalls. Proven, high quality design that won’t break the bank.

Topsheet

Carbonid

A full-length carbon layer developed for our most high-performance boards. Located between the core and the topsheet, it delivers explosive power and response as well as increased stability at high speed.

Absorbnid

An innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. Enjoy a smooth ride with less fatigue.

Wood Veneer

Using a sustainable wood veneer for the top layer accelerates response while delivering natural shock absorption and pop.

Inserts

4x2/6+1

6 rows of inserts at 2 cm intervals gives you maximum choice of stance width and works with any binding on the market. An extra set of holes towards the tail provides a useful option for the deepest days.

4x2/6

6 rows of inserts at 2 cm intervals gives you maximum choice of stance width and works with any binding on the market.

4x2/5

5 rows of inserts at 2 cm intervals is the industry standard pattern and works with any binding on the market.

4x2/3

With 3 rows of inserts every 2 cm, this minimal insert pattern offers fewer possibilities, making it easier for the smallest kids to choose which stance feels best.

4x4/4

With 4 rows of inserts every 2 cm, this basic insert pattern offers plenty of width options for young riders who are ready to start customising their stance.

Standard Split

Ride-mode inserts work with every splitboard binding on the market today. Ascent-mode inserts are positioned to perfectly balance the ski when it’s off the ground, enabling effortless kick-turns.

Fiberglass

Triax Plus

Fiberglass is woven in three directions at 45° for maximum stiffness. The result of extensive testing with our riders and engineers, Triax Plus uses different glass densities above and below the core to deliver more consistent torsional flex, better pop, and lightning response.

Biax Standard

Fiberglass is woven in two directions at 90° to offer a forgiving flex with plenty of torsional feel. It’s a versatile and lightweight construction that’s been tried and tested through the decades.

Biax Plus

Biax Plus features a classic 90° weave but uses more glass to enhance power transfer. It’s super responsive and ideal for riders seeking a stiffer and more agile board that’s still playful.

Woodcore

Light Core

Our lightest ever core is composed of three wood types, including featherweight paulownia and super responsive poplar. Hardwood beech stringers down the centre enhance the overall strength and boost pop.

Master Core

Our Master Core is the culmination of decades of experimentation in materials and woodcraft. Two species of wood (poplar and paulownia) are combined to give the best of all worlds: light, strong and responsive.

Full Wood Core

Our tried and trusted poplar core. If you like a classic ride with plenty of pop and lots of life, this is the core for you.

Base

N-9000

A lightning quick sintered base made from super dense material with a high carbon content to minimise friction. Wax it on the regs for race-level performance.

N-7000

Developed exclusively for Nidecker, the N-7000 has all the durability and low-maintenance glide of an extruded base but is as hard as a sintered base. We call it sintruded. You’ll call it fast.

N-5000

Our extruded N-5000 base sets the standard. It’s exceptionally durable and stays fast even without regular waxing.

Added Carbon

Pop Carbon Plus

Pop Carbon is deployed on both sides of the core and from tip to tail, beefing up the flex. Ideal for aggressive riders who want snappy edge response, tons of pop and a smooth ride at high speeds.

Pop Carbon

Carbon fiber is positioned between the inserts and the nose and tail – boosting ollie power and dampening chatter.

3D Shaping

3DN - Concept

The next level in snowboard construction. A 3D-milled core profile between the inserts allows you to flex the board more precisely under each foot, delivering the ultimate feeling of control and a three dimensional riding experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Freeflex

Our unique Freeflex technology shaves down the core at the nose and tail and reinforces them with lighter, stronger materials. This significantly decreases the board's weight and increases pop. It also dampens vibrations and generates a super light feel when transitioning between turns.

Sidekick

SideKick lifts your edges at the widest points of the nose and tail resulting in increased float in powder, smoother riding in rough terrain and effortless turn initiation.

Evolution Nose

Our 3D curved nose helps the board roll smoothly from edge to edge, creating a natural, surf-like flow through each turn.

Drop - Out

The Drop Out is derived from the shape of a bird of prey's tail. It generates more control when up on edge, but also allows for extra agility and deep, tight turns.

Profile

Camber

Positive Camber is the industry standard for performance snowboards. From tip to tail the board is effectively spring-loaded, helping the whole edge maintain contact with the snow and delivering lively response. Our camber is more advanced, adding an 8 to 10 cm flat transition at the contact points for the ultimate in precision, grip and stability.

Camber Pro

Our most aggressive camber is more pronounced in the middle of the board and maintains the spring-loaded bend right through to the contact points. It's a super reactive profile for advanced riders that demand explosive pop, insane edge-hold and a locked-in feel on rails.

Freeride CamRock

Freeride CamRock combines extended rocker at the nose, camber under the feet and a shorter rocker at the tail. It produces a maneuverable, confidence-inspiring board with tons of natural float to push your limits in the backcountry.

Surfy CamRock

Surfy CamRock features extended rocker at the nose and regular camber through the rest of the board. Together with the shorter tail we deploy on boards with this profile, it allows you to glide over bumps or pow and initiate turns off the back foot for a unique, surf-like ride.

CamRock

CamRock mixes classic camber between the bindings with matching amounts of rocker at the nose and tail. By shortening the contact edge, the board feels a little more relaxed – whether you're initiating turns or landing tricks. It's a proven all-mountain profile that will leave you stoked.

FlatRock

FlatRock is a three-phase profile that’s flat between the bindings with rocker in the nose and tail. The result is a board that feels more planted and less twitchy than camber, so sticking tricks is a walk in the park.

EZ - Rock

EZ-Rock is designed specifically for our kid’s board, the Micron Magic. Its V-shaped profile allows younger riders to turn with less risk of catching an edge, minimising those early slams and speeding up their progression.

Flex

Soft

Forgiving and fun. A soft flex allows smaller, lighter riders to easily control their board, and is perfect for anyone that's still dialing their turns.

Mid Soft

Playful and relaxed. A mid-soft flex enables creative all-mountain riding. From park laps to pow butters, it's ideal for riders that want to express their own style and keep things chill.

Mid Stiff

Versatile and responsive. A mid-stiff flex feels lively underfoot and more stable at high speed. It's great for more experienced riders that like to attack their turns and send it off every feature.

Stiff

Powerful and aggressive. For riders who know how to harness it, a stiff flex will generate snappier ollies and maximum edge control. Whether you're hitting the biggest park jumps or perfecting the art of the turn, it works best going fast.

Outline

Directional

With over 50 years of proven performance, directional shapes have a significantly longer nose than tail. They excel at floating through powder and offer better glide, carving and stability in variable snow.

Directional Twin

Directional twins offer the best of both: enough tail to ride switch comfortably, but a slightly longer nose for more float and stability. A great choice for freestyle-leaning riders who want to shred the whole mountain.

True Twin

True twins feature a mirror-image nose and tail and a centered stance for the ultimate in switch-riding ability. Identical performance in either direction makes them right at home in the park – and anywhere else you want to take off or land backwards.

Asym Twin

Asymmetrical twins feature a tighter sidecut on the heel edge for more balanced turning performance. A mirror-image nose and tail, together with a centered stance, makes them easy to ride switch and freestyle-friendly.

Nose Shape

Skate

The rounded skate-style nose has been a staple of snowboards for decades. It's a timeless design that features on all our entry-level boards and strikes a natural balance between overall length and surface area to deliver consistent performance on any terrain.

Blunt

By keeping the nose short and wide we're able to maximise volume and running length while trimming weight. Our Blunt nose floats effortlessly in deep snow, spins well off park jumps and smashes over lumps and bumps. Modern and versatile.

Diamond

Our Diamond nose boasts a similar wide shape to the Blunt version – and the same efficient lift in powder – but the added point helps it cut more subtly through the snow, whether it's slush, icy crust or chowder.

Surf

The Surf nose enables smooth glide and delicate steering in deep snow. With plenty of surface area up front, it's a natural choice for freeriders who want to slice through pow like they're carving a wave.

Asym

The Asym nose is an offset teardrop shape that works alongside our asymmetrical sidecut to enhance performance on your heel edge.

Sidecut

Tight

A shorter sidecut radius allows for sharp turns, surf-like slashes and maximum freestyle maneuverability. It's also great for kids and lighter riders who want a board they can easily manipulate.

Mid

A mid-level sidecut provides a great balance between speed and control. It's our most versatile rating for boards that turn predictably on any terrain.

Long

Shallow sidecuts feature mainly on our high performance carving and freeride boards. Think fast lines and long, smooth, drawn-out turns.

Tail Shape

Round

The classic round tail shape feels playful and keeps edge transitions smooth. It also works equally well ridden switch.

Fish

The defining feature of our surf-oriented snowboards. Designed to sink in deep snow, the Fish tail allows us to drastically reduce the overall length of the board. That means less drag, more glide and a back-foot style of shredding.

Diamond

An evolution of the rounded tail that's more compact, with a longer, more gradual kick for increased lift. Works great as the nose when riding switch.

Straight

Super wide right to the end, this is our most stable tail for popping huge ollies and stomping tail-heavy landings. The short design maximises the amount of board that's actually in contact with the snow and shaves weight to deliver more control.

Rounded Pin

The Rounded Pin is an agile tail shape that encourages fluid turns. It's a modern freeride design that sinks well in powder but still offers enough length to be ridden switch.

Asym

The Asym tail is an offset teardrop shape that works alongside our asymmetrical sidecut to enhance performance on your heel edge.
