New CamRock shape
CAMROCK (inverted camber Rocker) revolutionizes our way of thinking and optimizes the way to ride a snowboard.
The new CAMROCK concept, developed by our engineers, riders and shapers, allowed us to reach the following objectives:
More ease in flat and park
More ease in edge engaging maneuvers and in pivoting
Better gliding and lift in soft and deep snow
Better performances and easier in switch maneuvers
Better hold in hard pack snow and when decelerating
What is CAMROCK ?

CAMROCK developed by Stéphane Radiguet:

For 2010 Nidecker proposes 5 new incredible CAMROCK models, that will allow you to progress rapidly and surely!

Diamond Stone Finish
| Stone & Diamond structured base on 2 axes to maximize glide and to optimize the durability of the base. |
Alu Protect
| State of the art high strength aluminum tip protectors. Elastomer is bonded to the aluminum to absorb vibrations. |
Production Strategy
Nidecker Tunisia:
Due to the high cost of Swiss labor, Nidecker shifted its entry to mid level production as well as larger runs for brands such as Salomon to Tunisia, where Nidecker built a brand new factory in 1995 and that they still wholly own.
This factory is a short plane ride away from their headquarters and employs between 90 and 150 people depending on the season. With the recent explosion of cost’s with Far East production, the production delocalization to Tunis has proved to be a wise move, due to its proximity to the European market, French speaking populace, high quality standards, stable economy, and low labor costs. It is viewed but connoisseur’s as a great alternative to Chinese production |
No limit
| Two leading Swiss and Austrian companies have collaborated with the University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL) to exhibit original and offbeat snowboards at the 2008 Milan Furniture Fair. Under the leadership of Pierre Keller, director of the ECAL, and Augustin Scott de Martinville, a member of the ECAL te/aching staff, students studying Industrial Design and Visual Communication were able to “-customise-” snowboards manufactured by Nidecker by graphically inlaying Swarovski crystals. |
Eco Tech.
| Nidecker as been active in developing new ECO Friendly products, as a market innovator, not only with its stellar manufacturing, but with some innovative ways to include organic elements into our production with models such as the Platinum. This snowboard features; unique teak sidewalls (first time successfully engineered into a snowboard) a nano particle recycled base, linseed organic fiber as well as a real organic clover. Not only, does this board look tech, but you can feel the green power, just by looking at it. Everybody loves the “WOOD WINDOW” with the cool looking. |
Ultimate Grip
This invention will allow you to ride hard, artificial and icy snow as
you have never done before. The board’s shape and its positioning
allow to minimize the surface of pressure by 75%, and multiply by
3 the grip, for the same power of pressure developed by the rider.
How does it work ? Take an easy comparison: a normal knife and
a bread knife. If you want them to cut well, you need to sharpen
the normal knife more often, but whereas you don’t need to do that
with the bread knife. So... “Enjoy the Ultimate Grip revolution!”
More safety with less effort.
More fun due to less fatigue
More durability / Less Maintenance

Binding Tech - ECT
Nidecker is proud to present the Fusion, a mix of engineered polymers and aluminium. The fusion of these materials allows an lighter binding, an incredible response and a perfect board feeling, without the stiffness surplus of 100% metal binding.
Together with our ECT Pat pending system, Nidecker’s exclusive dampening system, your ride will be smoother and vibration free, your board will feel closer and you’ll still get maximum response.

Act Chassis
| Nidecker and DuPont have developed the ACT, a new all-polymer -snowboard binding-
on which the heel-cup can be -easily adjusted- to the -precise size- of the rider’s boot. The patented binding is made up almost entirely of two engineering polymers, DuPont™Zytel® nylon and DuPont™ Hytrel® engineering thermoplastic elastomer. |
Welded Wood ®
Nidecker Snowboards, with the help of the ‘Bern University of Applied Sciences - Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering’ based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, will be the first manufacturer, among all the industries in the world…, to use the newly developed process of Welded Wood. A constant challenge for the Swiss snowboard company is to always remain on the top of the latest technologies. Welded Wood is a new and revolutionary way to make two pieces of Welded Wood together without using any adhesives. Amazing, isn’t it?
To explain it quite basically - this technology, which has its origins in the plastics and metal industries, is used here in a similar way for timber boards. No additives are used to create the connection. By generating energy through friction, focused on the interface of the pieces to be connected, a transformation of the wood structure through pyrolysis is obtained.
The result is a bonding material which ensures the connection in form of an adhesive layer. Always on the forefront of technology, Nidecker Snowboards and the University are confident that this new and revolutionary technique will increase energy, flex, greater durability and a more environmentally friendly manufacturing process for the wood core.

EPFL
| Through our long term Technological partnership with EPFL (Lausanne Technology Institute) refining the technology side of -productio-n and spending more time developing new techniques with some of the leading EPFL engineers that lead their research a few miles from the Nidecker headquarters. |
Partners
| Our partner help us to push our limits. We can benefit of their knowledge to improve our products. One of the best exemple, is the very successful partnership betwinn EPFL and Alinghi (the Swiss racing Yacht, that won the America Cup two times in a row) with high caliber precision technology that played an important role with the victorious Swiss sailing yacht. The EPFL develop also Solaar impulse, which one of our engeneer help to produce. |
Revolution / Eurosima 2007
| Since 1887, Nidecker has revolutioned all the products they touch. Since our Gold medal in the Salon des Inventions in Geneva in 1978 for the ski country technology, Nidecker won a lot of award, such has EUROSIMA 2007 SNOWBOARD TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION PRIZE. |
The Secret
| The Rolle factory, is used -R&D-, for design functions and limited runs of high-end boards. New designs are built in the lakeside factory and tested in the nearby Alps, such as, Verbier and Chamonix, located an hour away. The Swiss factory also specializes in exclusive luxury collaborations with brands such as Chanel, Sterling, LORM. Since 2007, the factory as also diversified into -watersport-s, which help us to always improve our technology. |
Nidecker Heritage
| Since we released our first snowboards, some 25 years ago, we’ve been “committed to the ride.” This motivates us to relentlessly pursue innovation with the legacy of precision craftsmanship, inherited from our forefathers. Who already back in 1897 pioneered woodcraft with the original Nidecker factory. Specialized in the manufacturing of ladders, chairs and tables. Nidecker industrialized and thus, revolutionized ski manufacturing from 1912 up to pioneering European snowboard manufacturing from 1984 onwards. |
EZ Lacing
| Nidecker introduces the EZ Lacing System, the simplest and most precise way ever, to lace your boots. It also allows you to tighten independently
the bottom and the top of the boot, in order to get a precise and custom fit.
To close it: just pull the handles up until you get the desired tightening.
To open it: just pull the handle of the blocker device |
Boa Coiler ®
| Boots can be worn very loose or very tight, just turn the Boa reel and adjust tightness instantly. Boa® Coiler retracts all cables automatically when they’re loose, reducing the numbers of turns for tightening. |
